How are the @ trainees enjoying their time in Germany?

Hi bloggers,

We, the trainees, are having a wonderful time in K-Town. The weather here is simply unpredictable! If the weather forecast says it will be sunny it ends up raining all day long. We have learnt to be prepared for any kind of weather.

We think the people here are very friendly, especially the AIESEC committee. Furthermore, living in a multi-cultural environment is a different experience as we got to make friends from all over the world. We got to learn about other cultures and how interesting they can be. Besides making friends we also enjoy our time here a lot.

Do you want to know what we do in our free time? We visit the gorgeous Palatinate forest when the internet connection doesn´t work in the flat. Also, we participate in some sport activities. One of the best ways of touring K-Town is by skating, which we had to learn. Moreover we are attending fun-filled festivals and parties which are organized by the university and students. These festivals are very different from our countries; they are much bigger and one gets to see all kinds of people there.

One of the best educational experiences since being here is trying different kinds of beers. We didn´t know how many different kinds existed before we came to Germany. Here we could find beer mixed with an exotic fruit whose flavors are very pleasant.

Besides trying beer and attending German festivals we have also earned some experiences about being independent. When we decided to do an internship out of our country we never thought that our lifestyle will change 360°. Before we came here we were dependent of our parents, but now we are taking on a lot of responsibilities: cleaning our flat, paying the rent, trying to cook and so on. But at the same time we have no restrictions, we make our own rules. We don´t need to ask for permission to go somewhere. No more curfews!

One of the best things about doing an internship here is being able to travel a lot. In Germany there are a lot of tourist attractions. We trainees had the chance to travel far and wide; to Paris, Munich, Hamburg and still have plans to go to Berlin, Bonn and so on, before we leave for our home countries.

So far this journey has truly been full of surprises!
